All competitive activities, interests and hobbies apply
limits on technology, either because the technology is
deemed to be inappropriate or because it could change
the nature of the activity concerned.

Amateur radio exists, as a service, because the ITU
recognises its benefits in "self-training" and
"intercommunication" - in addition to "technical
investigations".

That's two other ONLY reasons.

Three options apply to Skimmer, and to new technology
in general -

1. Allow it.
2. Ban it for unassisted.
3. Ban it.

Let's hope that contest organisers arrive at a consensus.
It didn't happen with packet.

ps - Contest organisers: How about a consensus for
LP (100w) and QRP (5w)?
