[CQ-Contest] Vote now!!

This conversation about sending your call in the SS exchange brings to mind
a slightly related subject that I would like people to vote on. You can
vote by getting on the air - and adopting the method you think is best in
future contests.

One change I have noted from some contest ops - most notably N6RO - is that
they are taking the time to send the callsign of the station they are working
when they are giving their "search and pounce exchange".

This does a wonderful thing - gives the station they are working complete
confidence that they are indeed the guy who will appear in N6RO's log.

I occasionally see not-in-logs occur for stations in CW contests because
someone calls a station slightly off frequency and the timing of the call
makes another station think he was being answered - when a different station
actually was.

As a CQing station - I really appreciate getting the feedback that the guy
I think I am working, is indeed listening to me - and not some other
station who might be inside my skip zone that I can't hear.

Remember the penalty for a not-in-log is ofter at least one more QSO and
in some contests 2 or 3 QSOs. The extra time spent is good insurance to
make sure this doesn't happen as often.

Think about it - and make your choices known - on the air.

PS: The reason the callsign is in the exchange is that the exchange was
modeled after the message preamble from the standard traffic format.
I imagine if you leave it out - enough people will "vote" with their
feet and not call you because they don't like it. Saving a few seconds
here and there doesn't always equate to a better score.
