I visited Dick on several occasions in the 60s, after I had once relayed between Dick 
and Danny Weil on Yasme on 15 meters when they couldn't hear each other.  
I was pretty sure he never hit 100,000 in a year; here's what one entry states:

The hot(?) years were however 1976 with 36.480 connections, 1977 with 31.700 connections and 1978 with 48.100. It is estimated that
in six years it has made over 195,000 QSOs.
