I got issue already resolved and there is a way to do this at least for currently sold Yaesu rotor.  (Transformer has 220 V posting.)  It may be that older rotors did not have that posting as I found different informations from the web.  But issue is resolved.

I  (inadvertently) converted a G1000DXA to 220V.  You just need to change 
out the power transformer (in the control head) with the 220V version.

My episode happened when my (110V) transformer failed and Vertex sent me the 
wrong replacement.
