[CQ-Contest] Unauthorized Posts on DX Cluster are NOT KY1V

For one, the real guy can get his access back simply by providing any node operator with a photocopy of his license. The node operator could then go back and flag the IP address and email address of the poser. If he does it enough times, he will eventually get narrowed down to at least a region.

There are ways to catch the person from there. At the very least, that IP range, email domain can be flagged for manual processing. Once done, new registrations from that area will have to have someone verify the license photocopy.

I am sure there are better ideas, hence the discussion.

What about tying it license databases, like the ULS?

The system may not be perfect, but as it stands, the poser can go unchecked forever. With a registration system, he may get tired of finding new IP addresses and new email addresses, or eventually make a mistake that gets him caught.

Is it not worth trying?

I agree, While it indeed would be nice, but how to do it?
Simply having people sign up like a yahoo group, or a message board
isn't good enough, because what would stop me WB9SBD from going there
and sign up as K9MF and make a password etc. (Unless he has already
signed up.) But how do you secure it so someone can not sign up as
someone else.

Then even the real guy owner of the call is now locked out. Almost like
a web page url squatter.

It would be nice but how?
