On 40 and 80 SSB especially make sure you are the one the DX station is 
working
and vise versa.  This is especially true if working split.  The only safe 
way is to give
the stations call.    Example D4B this is K4JRB  59 5.  D4B should say K4JRB

I have run into Work b4 after just arriving on the band several times.

Better to be safe than sorry or NIL.
