[CQ-Contest] Computer control of FT1000D

Don, NL7CO and myself were having a discussion yesterday about the Yaesu FT1000D and contesting.  He thought that you can't do much computer control of one from the logging program.  I figured that it would pretty much do as much computer control as the modern rigs.

Anyone have experience using a FT1000D in a contesting environment and can fill us in on the computer control aspect of it?
