Dear contesters

The Oceania DX (OCDX) contest committee is pleased to announce that the results of the 2013 OCDX contest are now available at http://www.oceaniadxcontest.com/2013_Results.htm .

Congratulations to all the winners and thank you to everyone who participated in the contest, even if it was only to make one or two QSOs.

It was great to see a notable increase in the number of logs from Australia in the CW section, and from Indonesia, New Zealand and other countries in Oceania in both the PHONE and CW sections. This increased activity from Oceania stations is encouraging, as growing Oceania participation is also critical for attracting more participation from stations outside Oceania.

The terrific effort of Dave Mueller at NH2T deserves special mention. Dave has won the prestigious Oceania SO ALL HP category in both the PHONE and CW sections, as well as setting a new Oceania CW record. This was Dave’s last entry from KH2 as he is now in the process of relocating QTH from Guam to Hawaii. Dave has indicated that he is looking forward to continuing to participate from KH6 in the future.

OCDX CONTEST RECORDS

We have created a database to identify all of continent and county records in the contest since the current scoring was introduced in 2001. The full list of records is now published on the contest web site at http://www.oceaniadxcontest.com/2013_Results.htm .

2013 CERTIFICATES

Certificates have been awarded to the top scoring station in each category for each continent and country. Additionally, a participation certificate identifying the number of successful QSOs has been awarded to each station that participated in the contest. The certificates are available online for downloading and printing by individual entrants at their convenience. The web link to the certificates is at http://www.oceaniadxcontest.com/2013_Results.htm .

2014 OCEANIA DX CONTEST

The next OCDX contest will be held on the first two full weekends of October 2014 as follows:

PHONE: 08:00 UTC Saturday 4 October to 08:00 UTC Sunday 5 October

CW: 08:00 UTC Saturday 11 October to 08:00 UTC Sunday 12 October

The rules for the 2014 contest will shortly be published on our web site at http://www.oceaniadxcontest.com/rules.pdf. We are pleased to announce that the 2014 rules will include the addition of a QRP category. This addition addresses ongoing demand for such a category and we also think it will be beneficial for encouraging participation by holders of entry level licences (such as the Foundation licence in Australia) who are restricted to QRP power levels.

We look forward to seeing all the 2013 entrants again, along with new entrants, in the 2014 event. Let’s make it the best OCDX party ever!
