[CQ-Contest] CR3L Should Reconsider Submission Catagory

I simply can't, for the life of me, figure out what so many are objecting to.

The jump to MM can't have been a guaranteed win, since how do we know all the scores had been reported to 3830? Maybe one or more MM was staying silent about their results.

Does anyone know for certain if the team didn't discover some aspect of its operations disqualified it from M2?

Is there a requirement that stations MUST maximize their category to qualify for it? If I want to enter UH in SS because that local record is vulnerable, do I have to run 1,500 watts? Do I have to run 1,000 watts? 100? What if I want to enter U but have no access to the Internet?

These folks may well have intended to be M2, and then realized their score was competitive in MM and changed. So what? Seems to me the question isn't whether it's sleazy, it's why did the mighty MM stations allow themselves to lose to a puny little M2?

Why is it sleazy to RAISE the bar? Sure, if they actually operated as MM and entered as M2, that's both sleazy and illegal. If someone enters SS as A but was using their Alpha throughout and watching for spots, that's sleazy and illegal.

All this seems to me to echo the advice from VE4VV (SK) when we first started contesting together and 3830 actually was on 3830: keep your fool mouth shut!

Seems to me the smart teams from here out will stay away from reporting scores other than to the sponsor in an official entry.
