I didn't say it was inaccurate. I only said it was one side of the story.
All we know is that the hockey team was not able to sign a lease, and that HARA plans to make an announcement related to that next month. That and only that are the known facts.
Geez Louise, I think some of the people on this reflector would argue about the quality of the rope that the State is about to hang them with.
And you're sounding like one of them.

Ron - Reading the article, albeit from the side of the hockey coach, it states the following:
"Unfortunately due to circumstances out of my control Hara Arena is unable to sign leases not only to myself, but to other tenants."
and then Hara states "2 NEWS reached out to Hara Arena for comment. We were told the facility will make an announcement in August".
So yes, it's one side of the story because Hara won't yet respond but it accurate, it's NOT just the Hockey team and Hara is going to announce something in the next 5-35 days.

No, it's not a good sign... Maybe.
The problem is, we're hearing only one side of the story.
The only "fact" that is actually known is that the hockey team did not come
to terms with the current owners/managers of the arena, and that as a
result, they're suspending operations for a year.
For all we know, the owner of the hockey team asked for a huge break or
discount on the arena rental, compared to what they paid in the past --
maybe due to money issues -- and the HARA management said said "no". [ That
is speculation, not fact ]
So let's not jump to any conclusions. (Besides, those conclusions all got
jumped to last week on the eHam and QRZ.COM forums)
The DARA folks are aware of the situation. (I have that direct from someone
who was on the DARA board until recently). They do not have their heads
stuck up their... heads stuck in the sand. Let them deal with it.

For an events arena that is heavily in arrears on taxes, one would think
that the owner would be very much interested in seeking out new clients and
retaining existing clients - utilizing most any means necessary.
That Hara was unable to come to terms with a main tenant which brings in
badly needed revenue is not a good sign.
