The underlying question that is not being addressed here is: what % of
assisted ops in contests are using DX Summit fed web tools vs are connected
into a node?

If, for instance, 50% of the assisted ops are only using web based tools and
are not connected through a node, then it is a VERY BIG DEAL what is being
fed from RBN to those channels vs the nodes. If that lack of connection is
not supplemented by manual spotters - it quickly becomes an unfair
disconnect if some stations are piped in through W3LPL and most are not.

Does anyone have ACTUAL DATA on what that market share of assisted users is
connected to what?

What I experienced real time in ARRL DX was that a noticeable packet pileup
appeared periodically. I have seen it before. Decided to take notes of
time this round. Guess what - virtually ALL OF THEM tie to a DX Summit spot
- done manually.
