...try to get out of Havana for a few days and check out the National Park at Vinales.  I'd avoid the Hotel Nacional (they have bedbugs)

Thanks to all for your suggestions.  We have booked trip now to Havana on
21 February and will stay 10 nights.  Looking to stay in Havana at maybe 3
star hotel on beach.  Looking for suggestions on this matter.
