JOHN !

Having the ability to design a station with antenna placement, filter placement and auto switching has become more common place then years past.. MM , M1 and M2 have pushed the envelope to call CQ on one VFO and SP on the other VFO or with a 2nd and possibility of a 3rd operator Ringing out the same BAND.....BTDT..... But Alt CQing on another band SO now becoming a common practice in top tier stations and operator's. Just imagine the 30 top tier stations in the east Alt CQ'ing on the same band.

Remember thee there calling CQ well B-4 the band opens to secure the FREQ !!!

I am for the pushing the technology and the art, But IMHO this practice would be counter productive and the bands would be wall to wall with KING CONG station..

As far as spectrum usage goes what is the difference between this and a
single op CQing on two bands?

Jeff,

Thanks for the comments. I agree with your interpretation of the rules, I
don't like that it is allowed and like many have asked the ARRL to close
this loophole.

Many believe that if everyone adopted this philosophy that the band would
be a mess. People would have a very difficult time finding a place to CQ
unless you were a big gun etc.

73 and thanks for all the contacts from everywhere!

W0MU
