John, I suggest you contact the Contest Manager, Bart, W9JJ to see why 
the ARRL changed to a 5 day deadline for contest log submissions.  As 
far as I know, they didn't even consult with the ARRL's CAC on this 
decision!

With respect to your sending your 10m log to a "previously used 10 meter 
log email address", I recommend you always check the latest version of 
all contest rules before and after each contest to pick up any changes 
from previous contests.  This goes for all contests, not just the ARRL ones.
