Just to clarify, most modern Icoms need an electret element. The SB-40 
is dynamic, so a blocking capacitor is needed.

One plus for the Koss is the lifetime warranty. I don't know if it 
covers the earpads, which seems to be the first thing to 'disintegrate'.
