That's surprising on TO4A since it was smooth and very easy copy at speed.
I personally don’t like the 1 x 1s because it seems like something is missing. The 1 x 2, 2 x 1, never feel that way.

I had same problem with my TO4A call this past weekend. Even some of the "big guns" had real hard time understanding my call. So, I minimized my S&P.
Don’t know, maybe because it was not in a database.
At same time, I remember how I first reacted to SE5E calling me in the contest. Took me a couple of calls to understand that this is an actual call sign and not someone just fooling around with me. :-)

On the E6Y dxpedition last year we entered the Oceania CW contest. We discovered rather quickly that S&P was hopeless as people struggled to copy our callsign so we simply ran and gave up chasing multipliers.
