One of these new radios is FTDX-101. Cw rise time in this rig can be 
adjusted down  to 1 ms. Very popular TS590 also has this "feature". It 
must be conveyed to participants in contests that 6 ms is the minimum. 
May be write it even in the rules and introduce score reductions for 
violating participants.

This problem was mentioned again by Rob Sherwood in a recent webinar, and it clearly needs attention by the manufacturers.  I also noticed extreme clicks years ago with early Flex models, but they quickly cleared that up.  Even setting the default to 6ms or more by the manufacturers would be a big help, since it seems most people don't change that setting.
