[CQ-Contest] WPX CW Signal Quality Concerns

You are perfectly right, Pete, Insufficient PTT lead time
only causes a click at the start of transmission (unless it is QSK).
Most modern PA issues a warning when this happens.

With the exception of the K3, all modern radios can be adjusted to avoid
this.

The issue with the K3 is that increasing the PTT lead time (CONFIG:TX DLY)
more than a little beyond the 8ms factory default starts to distort the
keying.
A surprisingly large, and still unaddressed, design flaw in a radio that is
"best" in so many regards.

The only solution I know to this is to use an external keyer and let it
be responsible for the PTT lead time.
