The original post was regarding the Colonies event and asked for ways for inexperienced operators to handle that pileup - Not a contest

That is why split was suggested

Split operation is fine for a DXpedition, but NEVER in a contest. It is
incredibly selfish. I won't work anyone who is working split in a
contest. Indeed, doing so should be grounds for DQ.
