[CQ-Contest] What is a good prefix for the WPX Contest?

Randy, 

 

You asked what a good *prefix* is, not what most people are telling you..the
good CALLSIGNS or interesting/funny callsigns.

 

A good prefix is one that is easily copiable..Not so far out there that it
can be recognized on-the-fly w/o much thought.

   Close to but not exactly like the normal callsigns of your country.  S5
callsigns excepted, a good prefix is one with only 1 numeral in the prefix
field.

 

I happen to like the shorter callsigns and the almost-not-able-to-bust
callsigns..not the "cute" or "ridiculous" callsigns with a huge amount of
letters/words or numbers bordering on "why would you even *DO* that to
yourself or your QSO partners?"

 

M5 is a good one.  MM9 or OM0 are others.  Hard to bust them.

 

One year I went as VC9T.a relatively short callsign.  A total trainwreck.
Never again.

(nor would I try VE98765MIKE..it boggles my mind why folks do this.)

One of the fun things about the WPX contest is the number of multipliers.  

Every new prefix worked helps build the score. Ray NM2O has looked at the
TI7W 

log from last year and made a list of the USA prefixes worked.
