[CQ-Contest] VO1MP - Silent Key

Gus VO1MP passed away on Monday at age 81.

Gus was a very active and accomplished  contester for many years.  He was
also active as VO1XX and VO2CQ.

I knew Gus well.  We did a lot of antenna work together and had many
discussions on a wide variety of topics   He was my closest ham friend
while I lived in Newfoundland in the 2000s.

He was proud to say “I was born in Newfoundland, but I wasn’t born in
Canada.”  He was seven years old when Newfoundland and Labrador became
Canada’s tenth province
