I've probably know of or known Gus close to 40yrs. We were never close like
some you'll likely hear from but on a couple trips to Newfoundland, he
always made time for me, taking me for a tour of his antenna farm and shack
and telling tall tales (most of them true) hi.  

 

One time he noticed the 2m antenna on my car was in hard shape, asked me to
wait (I was just leaving) and emerged from his garage with a good one for me
to have for my drive back to New Brunswick. (for FREE!)_that was Gus!

 

I shall miss all of our QSO's and remember him fondly.
