So it's OK for stations to drop stuff like their call from the SS 
exchange, and the report from that RTTY contest, so that at the end of 
the contest they've made better rate and a higher score?

On SSB, I can tell them that it's part of the exchange, but not on CW. 
Maybe the solution is for those of us who care to simply not log the QSO!
