That takes most of the fun out of it for out-of-state participants, 
which is chasing mobiles around the state, catching them before they are 
spotted. That's especially true when they're on opposite sides of the 
country.

I've long loved the big state QSO parties, but have abandoned those 
whose rules give mults for in-state Qs to in-state participants, which 
causes them to abandon the higher bands as the day goes by.
