[CQ-Contest] Online Scoring and so on

The CQ-WW contest requires the highest level competitors to make audio recordings of their entire operation and provide them to the contest adjudicators if requested. Real-time logging to the online scoreboard could be required with similar reasoning.

As a aside, I think the top level competitors should also provide multi-channel video recordings, including operating positions and all equipment. Like amps.

One benefit of mandatory log submission to an online scoreboard would be for real-time log checking, such as for anomalies (i.e., cheating).

Display of real-time scores and other data would be optional for those who'd rather keep their heads down.

Most casual contesters wouldn't be likely to do real-time log submission, so they'd submit their logs as they do now (or not at all). For this reason, the online scoreboard wouldn't be able to provide a final score at the end of the contest. There would still be a waiting period.

Ron: I totally agree.  I've been an advocate of the COS for several years.  I'm constantly suggesting to the members of our contest club to use it - mostly to help BIC time to increase scores for the club and increase overall enjoyment.  I often refer to contesting as radiosport and I've asked what other sport(s) do not use real time scoring.  I said that to my XYL the other day and she replied: "boxing" (she's always one step ahead of me).  I bet there are others too.  For those who don't want to share operating strategy, in N1MM+, you can exclude band breakdown and exclude real time QSO data for real time scoring.  I'm sure for those who don't have a problem with BIC and are gonna be on for a full duration contest anyway may not perceive the BIC benefit but the "fun factor" of chasing or staying ahead stations really does keep me engaged. YMMV of course.
