I disagree with this one. When I use my FT-1000 and use the subrcvr as a 
semi-separate radio, I use the ALT period to log the S&P subrcvr station, 
at times. This is done if I fall behind entering the info from the 
primary freq, but wanna switch and work other stn.

Maybe make this a start-up option flag.
