In my various flailings I figured this might be an issue and tried it again
making sure it had a 'home' to go to.  It still didn't work.  This led me to
try the mentioned 'control' experiment, where I took a known goodie BIN file,
B2R9ed it then promptly R2B9ed it back again. It didn't want to work, either.

Something really basic is awry, but I can't see it.  Help!
