Thoughts On September Hardware & Plans

Hi Fellow Fourlanders,
I have recently acquired 40' of Rohn 25 with a hinge plate & the round flat
top section. The tower is in decent shape, with a little surface rust. I
have a local friend who is (was?) planning to have some tower sections
cleaned & re-galvanized. If he hasn't done so already, I will most likely
contribute to the load with this tower. We can use this tower in September
if we want; I plan to keep it on hand for "portable" contesting. Do the
Fourlanders have any tower or tower parts that need refurbishing? If the
timing works out, perhaps someone could bring it on their way to the
conference. I could return the tower later in the year, or hang on to it
until September.

I'm working on a deal for a 14' x 6' tandem axle flat bed trailer. I intend
to install outriggers on it for leveling. If we want, we can attach the 222
tower to it & possibly attach a second tower to it for 432 & up. Bob &
Steve indicated a desire for a two tower rig on the microwave bands, so
this might be a good solution. The trailer is very heavy, the tower(s) can
be guyed directly to it without fear of fall over.

Also, I plan to have my 15kW generator ready for our effort in September on
Mile High, provided I don't find any major malfunctions when I start
working on it. I plan to build a small trailer for it so that it can be
easily loaded & unloaded on the larger trailer. I think I have enough
copper cable to allow us to place the genny down the hill where the 2m
station genny usually sits to reduce the noise level.

Your thoughts & suggestions are welcomed.
