Fourlanders contest meeting at Shelby Hamfest 9/4/04

Present:  W4KXY, K4SZ, K4EA
Pres:  Decision made to buy a cable tester for the club ($20 at the
hamfest paid by K4SZ) for testing network cables.  K4SZ to be reimbursed
when we have some money in the treasury.
Treas:  $225 collected so far for 6m Antenna acquisition.  $280 paid to
K5AND and $15 paid to K4EA.  (One assessment payment still to be made to
complete repayment to the treasury).  Yearly insurance recently paid,
campground deposit paid.  About $20 remains in the treasury.

Discussion on recruiting:  K4SZ had previously suggested setting up at a
hamfest as one possibility of recruiting some more members.  Options: 
1) static display not operating  2) actual stations set-up  3) the whole
thing.  We decided if possible to try to set up with Brians trailer with
several stations set-up (static display) inside, one tower trailer with
antennas, posters with lists of equipment, activities, etc.  K4SZ will
make list and contact Lawrenceville hamfest officials to see if we can
set up there cost effectively.  Volunteers??  both for set-up and
on-duty will be needed.  Thanks to Fred K4KAZ for comments on the
recruiting aspect at this meeting.

Sept contest plans.  Ivan pulls Brians trailer for operating positions,
Bob pulls Radio Flyer trailer (one tower for 222/432), Jim pulls
Blackhawk (for 6m), Neal pulls Green Hornet (for 2m).

Neal to bring fourlanders 2m5wl with support, 2 5l 6m antennas and pick
up the extra laptop from Brian this week.

Bob to bring 125' hardline for 6m.
