The contest is less than a week away and I thought I would bring everyone up
to date.

I talked to Paul, W4SKI this evening. Because of vehicle and other problems
Paul will not be able to provide the full kitchen cook service he has done
in the past. Paul will be participating and operating though and will be
supplying a smoked rib dinner with all the fixings Saturday night.

Bob, K4SZ will be supplying his famous biskets for breakfast again and his
equally famous Brunswick stew for dinner one evening.

In June I brought Sonny's BBQ to the mountain with all the fixings for
dinner one evening. Everyone who participated seemed to like that. If
enough folks want I can do that again. I just need to know if you want Pork
or Beef.

That takes care of dinner and breakfast. Lunches will have to be on your
own. You will also need to supply your own drinks, tea, water, ice, etc.
We will also have a grill, microwave and stove available if you want to warm
up some stew or grill a burger.

Unfortunately WG8S dropped out today because of vehicle problems also. That
leaves just five folks K4SZ, K4EA, W4KXY, W4SKI and Bob's friend Ivan
participating. This is going to be the smallest group we have ever put on
the mountain top. If any of the rest of you guys out there can just come up
and operate for a morning, afternoon or evening to provide some rest and
relief time it would be of great help. Let me know if you are coming up and
when.

There was some concern expressed on Saturday at Shelby about the weather. A
quick check of weather.com indicates that all of this bad weather caused by
Frances will be gone by Friday and the weather looks good for the weekend.
I will continue to monitor the weather situation as the week goes on and I
will let everyone know if there are any changes.

That is all I have for now.
