Steve K4RF, Jim W4KXY and Bob K4SZ ventured to Mile Hi Campground last
weekend to do battle in the UHF contest. The weather cooperated pretty
well as we only had one rain shower after we got set up. Of course,
Murphy had stayed home with the stuff we forgot to bring, like the winch
to crank the tower up!! So our antennas were only about 15 to 18 feet
up, but maybe that's not so bad at Mile Hi except for the path back to
the Atlanta area.

Thanks to Steve for bringing the great food (actually thanks to Shirley)
and for taking care of kitchen duty for us. It was very good.

222: 17 Q's, 14 grids
432: 25 Q's, 14 grids
903: 9 Q's, 8 grids
1296: 13 Q's, 10 grids
2304: 3 Q's, 3 grids
10G: 1 Q, 1 grid

We tried on 3456 and 5760, but no contact either way on several trys.
Don't know what is wrong there, but we'll keep working on it. Did make
another 10G with W4DEX and made it on both CW and SSB.

68 Q's, 50 grids for 15,300 points submitted, multi-op using K4RF call.

It rained very hard after we got all packed up and were leaving, but at
least it held off til then.

Thanks to those who worked us and those who tried too. We spent a lot
of time trying to make Q's at distance on 2304 and any Q's on 3456.
Also missed some close in on 903 and 1296. Not sure what was happening
there. Thanks to NX9O for going out roving as he was the only station
heard in the metro area grids.

73, Bob K4SZ, for Steve and Jim
