Walmart (And probably other toy dealers) are selling an X-Band RADAR
with digital Dopper readout for $20!   Yep, $20.

It's in the Toy dept and sold by Mattel as a HotWheels accessory.

Readout in MPH or KPH, and scale speeds for RC cars.
To a full size car the range is 25-30 Meters.  Max 100 MPH.

The transmitter is a GaAs FET DRO.
The DRO goes though a power divider to a patch antenna array.
A balanced mixer is connected to the power divider and it's own patch array.
Mixer output to a digital counter and peakhold circuits.

The DRO is tunable;  now to figure out a ham use.
