Jim,

You are absolutely correct. I remembered that there was a site too,
but I never did anything further than looking a few sites and
daydreaming. That was back in 2002 when American Tower sold off the
AT&T microwave sites that they had bought back in 1999. There were
about 1600 to 1900 depending on which counts you believe. I took a bit
more of a look and found a couple of emails that claimed the going
price for one of those sites in 2002 was $20-25K and included a 60KW
generator (propane) at most sites.

Any of the really good sites for our contesting purposes in the
southeast seemed to have been retained by American Tower or were
manoeuvred by incumbents that had gotten co-location onto the
microwave sites.

The location of that tower in Maine makes it interesting for something
like making an attempt on the Brendan trophy from a location in the
US. Since this Maine site was probably owned by American Tower at some
point, I have asked Anna to look into it. It should be interesting. I
will try to run a propogation estimate for it just for fun.
