Here is something some of you might be interested in, especially Bob. The
IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) will be here in Atlanta next
week. To attend the technical program is a bit pricey but you can walk the
exhibit hall for $20. Go to www.ims2008.org for further details.

June15-20
Dear ECE Alumni,
We would like to bring your attention to a truly world-class technology
show arriving in Atlanta this June. The International Microwave
Symposium (IMS 2008) - an activity of the IEEE, the world's largest
professional engineering society -- will bring more than 10,000
attendees and nearly a thousand vendors to the South's premier city.
It's a must-see for everyone interested in learning more about the
cutting edge of wireless and microwave technology, including cell
phones, RFID, sensors and the many enabling technologies of the Mobile
Internet.
IMS 2008, which comes to the Georgia World Congress Center June 15-20,
is one of the world's largest wireless conferences. And as the largest
technical event in the Southeast, it's a showcase for some of today's
most exciting technologies. It not only offers the latest from the
wireless industry and its vendors, it also spotlights the cutting-edge
research that is making it all possible.
IMS 2008 will feature speakers of international renown, including Nobel
Laureate Joe Taylor of Princeton University and Mike Farmwald, founder
of such companies as Rambus and Matrix Semiconductor and a leading
venture capitalist. Scores of expert panels will discuss hot topics in
the wireless world including the FCC's latest wireless auctions, the
open-access Mobile Internet, multi-gigabit wireless technology and how
the coming 4G (fourth generation) wireless platforms are evolving.
IMS 2008 offers many registration choices, depending on attendees'
interests and needs. For information on the technical program and
events, visit www.ims2008.org <http://www.ims2008.org/>. For information
about registration, go to www.mtt-sregistration.com
