[Fourlanders] FW: [VHFcontesting] June and September Contest Records on the ARRL Web

Check this out guys. A very interesting read. First, you can see that we
now hold the unlimited multi record in NC for June. It also shows us
holding the unlimited multi record in GA for September but that is a mistake
that we hope to get corrected soon. The station that does hold the
unlimited multi record in NC for September is WS4F which is the old call of
Steve, K4RF. I am fairly certain that is a Fourlanders operation from
before we got W4NH so we actually hold the unlimited multi record in NC for
both contests. I also noticed a couple of other calls that I believe are
old Fourlanders operations. For example, AA4S unlimited multi in Virginia
for September. I believe that was from one if not the last time we
contested in FM07. The second thing that is interesting is the relatively
low scores in some surrounding states. Look at Georgia and Tennessee for
example. If we could find a suitable operating location it might be fun to
try and capture some of those records. For example, I am sure that with the
well oiled machine (yeah, I know that might be going a bit far) that we have
now we could take the June and September records in Georgia and probably the
Southeast. Think about it, it might be fun to do that next year. Anyone
have any ideas for a good location in Georgia (not Glassy Mountain) or
Tennessee?

VHFers:

The June VHF QSO Party section records have been updated to 2007, and a new
set of tables showing the September VHF QSO Party section records has been
added.
You can view them at http://www.arrl.org/contests under the scores, forms
and rules listing on the main contest page.

Since the September tables are the result of a new compilation, it is
possible that an error or two might have crept into them. I would
appreciate hearing of any errors or other problems.

In both contests, some section records in several categories are still
within fairly easy reach. So, lets get out there and break more records
this year!
