[Fourlanders] Amateur Radio License Plates Now Cost $

How did this get past our prestigious state ARRL Leadership without a protest or bulletin or something ??!
 
I wonder if they did the same thing for Volunteer Firemen plates, etc? If not, then that's discrimination that my district rep. will be hearing from me about.

But still Jim......$55 ??  It's still a reasonable price for vanity plate as compared to some states. Hell, you pay have that just for a Hamvention ticket that is only good for 3 days !

I just found out today that effective May 12th it now costs to apply for and renew an amateur radio license plate in Georgia (it was free).  The new fees are $55 to renew and $80 to apply for an amateur radio license plate!  That is more than I am paying in tax for the Explorer!  I guess I will not be renewing my amateur radio license plate next year.  Too bad, so sad.
