[Fourlanders] wave bye-bye to 440 MHz

I find it humorous the FCC is granting requests for more devices in this UHF spectrum (RFID, Recon Robots, hospital medical monitoring, etc.), thus driving more new start up businesses (economy ?) while Congress is considering auctioning certain portions of the same band away !!

Maybe we want these newer law enforcement devices to be successful ?? Certainly would seem to maybe help our spectrum auction defense situation, wouldn't it ?

What I think is even better is the FCC plan to auction off more TV broadcast spectrum and offer some of the proceeds to the TV broadcasters to persuade them to give up the spectrum. WTF? The last time I checked my license on the back specifically says that the license doesn't grant you any rights to pectrum. I am sure that the TV broadcast licenses say something similar but the FCC has to pay them to relinquish the spectrum? Maybe ReconRobots should have to pay us something to use our spectrum.

I wouldn't be too quick to call it all doom-and-gloom. It's not the best of news, but... their numbers are small. Wonder where these robots will be used?

MY big disappointment in the Commissions order was the FCC going back to the manufacturer and asking if a new label is OK. Give me a break! Tell them you WILL have this label. Or better yet, tell them no to the band.

I think we can read between-the-lines. A "favor" was called.
