I finally got in touch with the Mile High Campground folks today and we are all set for June and September. We have sites 17 through 21 for June (8 sites) and 16 through 20 for September (also 8 sites, site 21 isn't available). Now to get ready for Dayton. I am really looking forward to it.

Has anyone checked out the new Kenwood TS-990? I have always liked Kemwoods ever since I used a TS-940 at W4AQL (Ga Tech ARC) back in the day. I still have a TS-940 that I breakout every now and then to relive the good old days. I am going to be looking at the TS-990 very closely. I am just glad that Kenwood has decided to develop a real competition grade transceiver again. For those of you who might not know it, Kenwood was the HF radio to own back in the day (1970s and 80s). They had a long line of very good HF transceivers starting with the TS-520. I owned a Heathkit HW-101 (I still have that radio to) but I lusted after the TS-520. It cost around $600 which was a LOT of money back then especially for a kid in high school. Then suddenly in the 90s it was like they forgot how to make good HF transceivers. Everything suddenly became HTs and APRS. They still had HF transceivers but they were a shadow of the previous glory days. The FT-2000 at least showed they were still alive now lets hope the TS-990 puts them back in the mainstream.
