Mentioning the TS-520 sure brings back memories. My first serious
radio was a TS-520 with DG-5, VFO-520 and SP-520. That was a sweet
rig. I "traded up" the '520 for a TS-680S that was a bit of a
disappointment in terms of performance. I never really looked back
again at Kenwood for HF performance after that.

I hope the TS-990 is a competitive radio.
