Gentlemen, I have an idea. How about those of you with an opinion about how I should set up permanent antennas at my place, weigh in on the subject.
I'm thinking more and more about getting some towers and antennas up here, rather than using the portable stuff.
I've thought about how I might put up stuff just for my own use, which would probably be different than what we'd want for multi-op contesting and probably not very compatible, except for maybe one band, and then we'd still have to set up the portable stuff. I do want to be compatible for multi-op though.
I am having a mental block on what I might do that would be good for me and also for the multi-op set-up, so I'd like your ideas on this.
Those of you who've been here know the rough layout, the building is 30' by 80' and the concrete driveway beside it is 32' by 80'+.
The biggest stumbling block I've had is how to lay out guyed towers with the required circle for the anchor points or to just go with free-standing towers.
I do have one free-standing tower that can be put up and am considering getting one or two more if that's the way to go. I tried to get both of Terry's towers but was too late and missed them.
Anyway, think about this if you have some time and all ideas and suggestions will be welcome (even the one's I won't be able to afford!).
Another consideration is that no tower will be able to go in the front yard that might be in the 'mountain view' vista from the house.
thanks, Bob
