Hmmm..Interesting.

 

So this is what Yaesu replaced the FT-897 (discontinued) with and is their
answer to the Icom IC-7000, huh ?  Looks nice enough, although they have
opted for an Audio Passband Filtering method for CW , rather than true IF
filtering 

 

Well, for a radio of this size I'm not sure you can call it a mobile, unless
you could separate the front panel (like the 897 and 7000) and mount the
radio body remotely, which can't be done with this rig.
