I was at Sears today getting my oil changed (they are open on Sunday) and the service guy approached me about something rather odd.  He said that my tires were five years old and they should be replaced.  I did get the tires about five years ago but they still have good tread and there is no sign of dry rot or anything to make me think that they should be replaced.  When I pointed this out to the guy he said that tires have an expiration date and they are not safe after that date.  I blew him off and told him thanks but no thanks.  I have to ask you guys have any of you heard of this?  Sounds like a scam to sell tires but I want to be 100% sure.  Thanks.
