NORTHERN CHRISTIAN ADVOCATE, JULY 4, 1889


Cutler GREEN died at his home in Sterling, Oswego County, New York,
April 12, 1889. He was born in Mexico, Oswego County, New York, April 7,
1806. Removing with his parents to Jefferson County, New York, he there
spent his early life and was married with Miss Lucinda HOOPER March 26,
1831. Soon after their marriage they came to Sterling and made it their
permanent home. The farm upon which he lived and died was most of it
cleared and subdued by his own hands. Not long after coming to Sterling
he was converted, and with his wife joined the Methodist Episcopal
church, of which he remained a member until his death. Five children
were born in this home, one of whom died in the army during the late
war. His wife died fourteen years ago, and eleven years ago he married
Mrs. Alice SART, who shared the joys and sorrows of the remainder of his
life, and with the four remaining children mourn their loss. He was a
kind and loving husband and father, a good citizen and cheerful
Christian. Trusting in a crucified and risen Savior, he saw no terrors
in the grave and died in peace. Rev. Charles E. Smith
