Naomi Green, I have the census info you posted today. Thanks so much. In the 1880 Brazos co TX census, A.B.'s wife and children are living in the household of widower William P. Hassell, age 63 (page 273, family # 214). Carrie A. Hooper is 37, divorced, working as housekeeper with the five children with her. In 1886 she married James T. Pollard in Palo Pinto co and two sons William and John seem to fall off the earth. My grandfather Eddy C. Hooper left home and became a cowboy. His stepfather was a friend of Charles Goodnight and possibly got him a job driving cattle to Kansas and New Mexico. My grandfather Ed Hooper married Mary Kate Davis in 1899 in Greer co, OK and had three children. One son Alonzo Clyde, born 1900; my mother Lila Alberta, born 1903 and Retha Aline,1915. Clyde Hooper married and had a son Howard Edward Hooper, born in 1948, graduated from Dumas TX High School 1967 or 68. He would be a candidate for the DNA test if I could find him. My grandfather's sisters all had large families, but only the two missing brothers or Howard Edward are possibilities. I have corresponded with descendants of Thomas Jefferson Hooper but there are no male descendants. Ernest Hooper never married. Any suggestions would be welcomed. Thanks again.
