[Hooper] Hoopers

I am John Hedley Hooper, son of Morgan Hedley Hooper and grandson of  William 
Hedley Hooper.  I have traced the UK branch of my family back to  1720 when 
the name was spelt Huyper.  Thomas Huyper married Martha Bruer  from which our 
lot descended.  I cannot trace any Hoopers or Huypers prior  to Thomas in 1720 
and as there were no other Hoopers or Huypers in the  weaver village of 
Hilperton in Wiltshire prior to 1720 and as both Bruer  and Huyper sound Flemish to 
me I assume Thomas Huyper's parents were Flemish  weavers who fled  the 
Lowlands after the abrogation of the Treaty of  Nantes.  If any one has a better 
idea I would love to hear about it.  Incidentally there are hordes of Hoopers 
who legged it to the USA in the early  19th C. I have quite a bit of information 
about them.   William  Hedley Hooper went to USA to earn enough money to 
marry my grandmother. However,  having convinced my great grandfather that he had 
enough money to marry his  daughter, his daughter (my grandmother) refused to 
go back to USA with him so  they settled in Barry, South Wales.  Any further
