[kids] Kids Day Operations

KG4ABI station Got kids day off to a terrible start at 1300 EDST here in the
Wal-Mart parking lot.  Called numerous times on the designated
areas with no results.  Finally got on MM net at 14300 and moved
down with some folks who had kids at home and made a couple of
contacts, but nothing spectacular.  

Seems our kids large and small were afraid to even come forward
and talk, but we provided a contact to a "5" station who had a 14 yr
old (who talked to Becky, my grandaughter who is 14) couldn't make 
out his call sign.  one Lincoln, VT station who had a 7 yr old, plus one
other.  

After a lack of activity we went back home and got out of the heat. 
Surprisingly enough we heard lots of stations on when I hooked the
radio back up at home.
