    That's a shame, but I didn't hear any non-W/VE stations
    taking part.    One problem is that generally they would
    be weaker than the Ws, and the kids have a hard time with
    weak signals, while we DX ops have more practise.

    I think that's true.  I did hear a pile-up for Z22JE, and
    called and got right through.  I let my 10-yr old op talk
    to the station (he had quite a pile-up but he was happy
    to chat with her for a bit).   We may have broken some
    third-party rules, though.

    Perhaps each country or region should set up their own version 
    of Kids' Day on different dates from the US one.  It's a great
    experience for the kids, but they do need to hear loud signals.
