hi Dick - I believe it is getting out, you just didn't get many replies... 
the point about the MLDXCC budget made it kind of moot for many people, I am 
guessing.

I would pay for a 'ticket' to see K4VUD speak (i.e., donate to the cause) - 
however, I expect the only way it would work would be one or more of the 
following:

1. a stop in CA is on his own schedule sometime in the future

2. we somehow herd cats and get several clubs to sponsor a 'tour' of the clubs

3. we pre-sell tickets for a future appearance at a venue easily accessible 
to a large enough audience (i.e., not Jackson)

If a speaker has not been recruited for the DX Convention, K4VUD would seem 
to be an excellent choice - I think it will be just as 'current' then as 
now, frankly. This isn't one of those things that will be easily forgotten.
