What is a "box stand?"  I am using a "shoe rack" from Home Depot.
The monitor is on the top shelf, the transceiver is on the bottom
shelf, and there is a couple of inches under the bottom shelf for
the keyboard to slip under.

The problem I have had with all purchased shelf systems is that they
sag under the high weight of my FT1000D (70 lbs) and my 21 inch
CRT monitor (40 or 50 lbs).  A long time ago I built some shelves
using 2x12 straight grain fir.  They didn't sag.  I may go back to that.
