Oh, my! I haven't been following cq-contest lately so I hadn't heard about
Paolo's recent health problems. I'm so sorry to lose a delightful
acquaintance and great friend of contesting and DXing. Although he may have
first flown on an airliner in 1990, I think I gave him his first ride in a
small plane in 2005, along with his lady friend Nilla and our own Rusty
W6OAT. The challenge of fitting him into my "spam can" was bettered only by
his good humor and enthusiasm for the process and the flight. On a
subsequent visit to Italy, Ann and I enjoyed his enthusiastic hospitality at
his local trattoria where his appetite justified his size and the food was
fantastic. Rest in peace, my friend.
